The most mysterious creature ever known is the giant squid. Though, It is a very well-known animal, scientists don't know much about them because they live 6,000 feet deep. They have eyes the size of beach balls to see in the darkness. They are as long as a school bus with a large head, 8 arms, and 2 tentacles which are used for grabbing prey. They have strong jaws that are shaped like parrot beaks. Normally, the females are larger than the males. The largest squid found was 59 feet long and female.  Diet The giant squids diet includes fish, shrimp, and other squids. They use there tentacles to fight there "soon to be dinner" and hand it over to there 10 feet arms that deliver the food to there mouth. Age You would think that this HUGE animal would live for 100 years but really they don't live long at all. Did you know that if you are older than the age of 3 you are older than a giant squid? That's right! A female squid lives for only 3 years after spawning and then immediately dies. Predators The only know predator is the sperm whale. Giant squids are so big and strong no animal in the sea wants to mess with them even if there life depended on it!
